Firm Foundations - book review - word-on-the-web

So what is it about?	The front cover describes it as "A beginner's guide to Christianity". The back cover says that it is "The essential guide to the Christian life for newcomers to the faith".
Who is it for?	"Beginners" and "newcomers" - those who have just come to faith, but want and need to know more.
Does it do what it says on the label?	Yes, and what's more, it does it in a very simple, down-to-earth way. Steve Legg is gifted in speaking at schools, colleges, on the streets and at Christian events, and this comes across in his writing. He tackles theological subjects like the nature of God, sin, the Bible, repentance and more - and he talks practically about things like prayer and money. There is even a glossary of Christian jargon at the back of the book, for those who are new to church and don't know what some of the people there are talking about!
Enjoy or endure?	Enjoy. One to give to new Christians, to buy as a refresher course for yourself, or to read if you are leading a group of people who are new to the faith.
Any other comments?	I am slightly biased in that I have seen Steve Legg live and like his way of communicating deep truths very simply, sometimes through escapology and humour. Catch him at an event near you!
