The Gravity Show - Michael Pritzl

Describe it in 20 words Solo project from Michael Pritzl, lead singer of Violet Burning - honest, sometimes introspective songs in a retro electronic eighties style.
Big Themes/Standout Tracks All of it is quite striking. It is not original in the sense that the style harks back to the electronic pop of the eighties, but it is original in that there is very little Christian music in this style. I particularly liked the final track, 'Goodnight', which is short but sweet.
Anything that lets it down This is a great album, but even though it has ten tracks, it is relatively short for a CD album and I was greedy for more! Also the cover, in its Andy Warhol style, is more reminiscent of the sixties than the eighties.
Who it sounds like The backing tracks sound like such eighties groups as Flock of Seagulls and New Order. The vocals are in different styles depending on the song: 'Dreadful' sounds like Marc Bolan from T-Rex; 'Aching' sounds like Robbie Williams; and 'Worlds Apart' reminds me of Lou Reed.
Rating **** Great stuff
