Everyday People - Nicole C Mullen

Describe it in 20 words The latest soul and gospel album from established duo Anointed - brother and sister Steve Crawford and Da'dra Crawford Greathouse.
Big Themes/Standout Tracks My favourite track is "Jesus is Lord" (guest starring soul legend Andrae Crouch), which combines blues, soul, gospel and jazz, has a strong horn section and sounds a lot like the best of Joe Cocker. However, the hit single of the album has to be the infectious "Trust in You".
Anything that lets it down Like many albums of this genre, there are the obligatory slushy ballads with predictable key changes. Also, I find that gospel music works better live than in a clinical studio setting.
Who it sounds like BeBe and CeCe Winans. Andrae Crouch.
Rating *** Good effort
