| Describe it in 20 words | All Star return with a cracking rock album full of life and energy. Best rock album of 2002 - just maybe! |
| Big Themes/Standout Tracks |
Revolution may be a bit of an exaggeration. If
you already know All Star United this will provide a few surprises in
terms of sound - they are a brit rock influenced US band who mix rock
humour and faith into a brilliant cocktail. Its a real
buzz! Stand out tracks here include 'global breakdown' a reminder that despite the stories about the end of the world, Christians have no fear. 'Weirdo' that compares claims that Elvis is alive and about crop circles with the 'weirdness' of following Jesus. you can decide which is most weird! At a slower level 'Sweet Jesus' is a beautiful worship and confessional song but when these guys slow it down they never let it get slushy or soggy. Brilliant. |
| Anything that lets it down | Well if you are already a fan you might just feel you've heard this album before, but give it a few plays and this album proves its worth alongside the fantastic earlier albums. One or two lines might be a bit American in the humour but this is a class performance. More evolution than revolution in sound but still fantastic. |
| Who it sounds like | They are All Star United - they should conquer the world. meanwhile think Blur meets Split Level?? Even better, if you like rock, buy it. |
