Subscriptions to word-on-the-web top 8,000

Church Army's internet based ministry, word-on-the-web , which provides free daily Bible notes by email has welcomed its 8,000th subscriber. The project was launched five years ago with just a handful of subscribers and now is read by a community of subscribers based in more than 120 different countries.

Ruth Walker, Project Coordinator comments: “It is inspiring to see the way in which God has blessed the project and how it has grown and is being received by so many people. It's very encouraging that people are finding it a helpful way to connect to God in our busy technological society”

Kelly Martin, All-Age Adviser at CPAS says “ word-on-the-web is like a high-energy, health snack - a manageable bite of Bible with a helpful side-order of creative thoughts and musings. It is probably the only convenience food that is consistently good for you! The variety of writers keeps it fresh and provides challenging and though-provoking insights.”

Over the years the project has grown and last year saw the launch of word-on-the-web’s “New to Christianity” course, a six week course of free daily emails explaining the basics of Christianity. Like the main service provided by word-on-the-web “New to Christianity” is sent free daily by email. The “New to Christianity” course has also seen a growth in users and now more than 600 people have gone through the 42 day course.

As to the future and where word-on-the-web is headed, Ruth says “We can only go from strength to strength! We have so many ideas which we would like to put in place, just keep watching this space."
